“Our summer camps offer girls a place to build lasting friendships, learn lifelong skills and be themselves all while having fun,” said Donna Ceravolo, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “While we budget funds to attempt to ensure that every girl who wishes to go to one of our summer camps can, we are unfortunately unable to provide assistance to all of the families who need it. And, that’s why we’re asking you for your support! Help us send girls to summer camp and impact their lives for the better.”
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County offers three summer programs, which consist of two day camps located in Nassau County and one sleep-away camp located in East Hampton. The Summer Fun Day Camps are located at Cantiague Park and Wantagh Park. A typical day at these camps includes sports, arts & crafts, nature walks, singing and fun in the pool. On rainy days, girls participate in activities such as indoor games, crafts, songs and more. Camp Blue Bay in East Hampton is owned and operated by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. It is located on 179 acres of beautiful beachfront property. The camp offers a variety of learning and challenging experiences. A typical day at this camp includes boating, swimming, crafts, teambuilding activities, nature games, campfires, singing and more. The camps are open to the general public. Day camps are open to girls in grades 1-7 and Sleep-away Camp is open to girls in grades 1-11.
Looking to help send a girl to summer camp? Every summer the Girl Scouts of Nassau County provide a camp experience for more than 1,200 girls. For many of them, the dream of going to camp would be out of reach without assistance. Again, this year Girl Scouts of Nassau County has campers waiting to see if they will be able to receive financial assistance to attend camp. In order to meet the increasing demand to provide opportunities for camp to as many girls as possible the Girl Scouts of Nassau County asks the community for your support.
