For the past 98 years, Girl Scouts has pledged to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. It’s not too late for your daughter to join this lasting legacy. Register her today for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County! Spring registration is now open for fall placement in a Girl Scout Troop.
“We continue to encourage parents to enroll their daughters in Girl Scouting because we truly believe our organization provides experiences, life skills and lessons and opportunities important and relevant for girls everywhere,” says Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of Girls Scouts of Nassau County.. “Girl Scouts has many new initiatives aimed at helping girls discover themselves and their future goals and aspirations. We would love the chance to continue to fulfill our mission, one girl at a time, starting with your loved one!”
In Girl Scouting girls will discover essential skills to deal with issues facing today’s youth such as, body image, bullying, peer pressure and sexting. Girl Scouts also have the opportunity to connect with nature, learn wilderness skills and sing camp songs around a campfire at summer camp. In addition, there are numerous programs to help girls learn the importance of health and fitness, as well as educational programs that highlight math and science. Girls also get the opportunity to experience artistic or cultural activities that demonstrate healthy forms of self-expression. And, just as important, girls have the opportunity to work on their social skills, learning about the importance of giving back, treating others with respect while making lifelong friendships.
Girl Scouts of Nassau County builds girls of courage, confidence and character. Girl Scouting in Nassau County creates an accepting and nurturing environment, which gives girls a chance to build character and receive skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them throughout their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. With more than 22,000 girl and 7,000 adult members, Girl Scouts of Nassau County has become the preeminent organization and leading authority for girls. The organization, now in its 98th year, continues to make the world a better place one girl at a time.
