GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY NOT AFFECTED BY COOKIE RECALL

Girl Scouts of Nassau County has not been affected by the recent Lemon Chalet Crème Cookie recall by Little Brownie Bakers.

“We want to reassure our patrons that the Lemon Chalet Crème Cookies our Council had and continues to receive from our supplier, Little Brownie Bakers, have not been compromised,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “All of our Cookies are safe to consume and taste great.”

Little Brownie Bakers recently received a few contacts from consumers informing them of an off taste and smell from certain packages of Lemon Chalet Crème Cookies. They immediately took the precautionary step of testing product samples and determined that while the cookies are safe for consumers to eat, they are not up to their quality standards.

Certain lots of Lemon Chalet Crème Cookies contain oils that may be breaking down which can result in an off taste and smell. They have asked that the councils that received these batches return any product inventory in their control to them. No other Girl Scout Cookies are involved and all Cookies sent to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County have not been affected.
