ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR DISTRIBUTES BOOKS TO MORE THAN 500 CHILDREN

During the week of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, local Enterprise Rent-A-Car employees volunteered with NJ After 3 to distribute children’s books to more than 500 children in after-school programs in Perth Amboy and Lakewood.

More than 900 books were donated by Enterprise Rent-A-Car employees, customers and partners in the Central New Jersey Region.

“In the spirit of Dr. King, the book drive spreads hope and peace through development of literacy,” said John Keogh, human resources generalist manager for the Central New Jersey Region of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. “Through continuing Dr. King’s message of service, we hope to help the youth of our community break barriers and improve their lives.”

In addition to the book drive and distribution, Enterprise volunteers helped lead a “Speak Out and Listen Up” campaign. The campaign educated children on the teachings of Dr. King by helping them explore their own voices and assist in creating communities that support and celebrate literacy development, hope and peace.

Founded in 1957 and headquartered in St. Louis, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is an internationally recognized brand with more than 6,000 neighborhood and airport locations in the United States, Canada, the U.K., Ireland, and Germany. In addition, Enterprise of North America is part of a global strategic alliance with Europcar, creating the world’s largest car rental network.

There are more than 5,000 Enterprise offices located within 15 miles of 90 percent of the U.S. population, and local customers are picked up at no extra cost. Known for exceptionally low rates and outstanding customer service, Enterprise was named to BusinessWeek’s annual list of “Customer Service Champs” in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Enterprise also has ranked highest in customer satisfaction among airport rentals in 10 of the past 11 years, according to J.D. Power and Associates Rental Car Satisfaction Study. To minimize the environmental impact of car rentals, Enterprise not only offers customers the opportunity to offset carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, but also to rent a hybrid vehicle in more than 30 major markets.
