If so, contact SLCD as they celebrate their 25th Anniversary this year! Share your stories of the past at the Evening of Honor Gala on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Russo’s on the Bay in Howard Beach starting at 7:00pm.
“It would be so wonderful to reconnect with some of our past students and be able to include them in our 25th Anniversary celebration,” said Dr. Ellenmorris Tiegerman, President and Founder of SLCD. “Twenty five years is a amazing accomplishment for everyone who has championed for our school and our children over the years. We are so excited to celebrate this milestone and can’t wait to do so with current and past students, faculty, staff and dedicated community supporters.”
The SLCD 25th Anniversary Evening of Honor Gala will join together SLCD students of the past, present and future! Alumni will be able to bring memorabilia and share stories from the past. Information about SLCD’s current programs and future goals will be displayed. Attendees will be able to bid on a variety of raffle prizes and enjoy a delicious dinner followed by an evening of dancing and catching up with old friends.

The School for Language and Communication Development provides special education services to children with language disorders including those along the autism spectrum continuum. SLCD’s program has grown from 36 preschoolers to more than 400 children ages 18 months to 21 years in elementary, middle and high school programs. As SLCD celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year, its mission to meet the special needs of children unable to speak or communicate still remains constant and the School’s motto “Language Learning for Lifelong Success” is continuously upheld.
