What better way to say thank you to the brave men and women who serve our country and protect our freedoms than with a box of their favorite Girl Scout Cookies! Join the Girl Scouts of Nassau County as they begin Operation Cookie and purchase a box or a case of cookies from a local Girl Scout to be donated and shipped directly to military troops overseas.
“We honestly could not be happier to be able to bring a taste of home to the men and women serving our country and hope it serves as a reminder that although we are physically apart, they are never far from our thoughts and prayers,” says Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “A special thank you goes out to DHL who has so generously agreed to donate their shipping services to us to guarantee our military troops receive their donated Girl Scout Cookies and make Operation Cookie 2010 a success!”
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County needs your help to surpass the 35,000 boxes of Cookies given to military personnel last year. So don’t forget to add an extra box or two to your order, ask your friends and colleagues to become a Star Spangle Sponsor of a case of Cookies or see if your company will make Operation Cookie a workplace initiative.
Ms. Ceravolo adds, “We sincerely thank our community for supporting this important program. We could not do it without you! And thanks to the generosity of DHL, the Cookies will go directly to our soldiers, and the dollars the community spends on the Cookies will stay right here in Nassau County for Girl Scout activities and programs.”
