Hilary JM Topper, MPA, President and CEO of HJMT COMMUNICATIONS, LLC has been appointed Communication’s Chair of the Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) New York City Chapter. In this role, Ms. Topper will be responsible for all internal and external awareness of the group.

New Art Director at HJMT

Jillian Beroza of Commack, NY was recently promoted to Art Director at HJMT COMMUNICATIONS, LLC, the nationally recognized full-service boutique public relations, social media, graphic design and event planning firm, located in Westbury, Manhattan and Rochester.

“Jillian is very talented. She works extremely hard and is dedicated to the firm,” said Hilary Topper, President and CEO of HJMT. “She’s been with us for more than two years and in that time has really grown as an artist. She has taken us to the next level with her graphic design abilities and more than deserves this promotion.”

In this role, Ms. Beroza is responsible for the creation and overall design layouts of advertisements, newsletters, journals, annual reports, invitations, brochures, logos, packaging and various other projects. She also monitors the traffic of print orders throughout their production and alters schedules to expedite timely processing of jobs. She will also be supervising other staff artists.

Prior to joining HJMT, Ms. Beroza was a graphic designer at Sherman Speciality, Inc., where she was responsible for the design of large catalog layouts, logos, packaging, products and customized top-selling banners in the dental, party and restaurant divisions of the company.

Ms. Beroza graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Oswego with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design.

HJMT’S VICE PRESIDENT OF CLIENT SERVICES TEACHES GIRL SCOUTS ABOUT PUBLIC RELATIONS

Westbury, NY June 10, 2009 – On Saturday, April 25th, Lori Alexy, Vice-President of Client Services at HJMT COMMUNICATIONS, LLC, taught a group of Girl Scouts about the “ins and outs” of public relations and social media. When the course was over, the girls received an Interest Project Badge.

Ms. Alexy educated the Girl Scouts of Nassau County about the different aspects of Public Relations and the basic terminology that is used daily by PR professionals. The girls then broke into “companies” where each group created a name, logo and tagline.

“Public Relations is an exciting profession which made it that much easier to teach the girls about the field,” said Ms. Alexy. “The girls were able to learn firsthand what a day in the life of a public relations professional is like. I hope I was able to inspire some of them to think about a career in PR in the future.”

Following the creation of their “companies,” Ms. Alexy showed the girls how to write press releases, generate publicity updates for Twitter accounts, and plan a launch party. At the end of the session, each of the Girl Scout groups gave a presentation about their “company” and what they learned from the project.

Westbury, NY June 10, 2009 – HJMT’s Vice President of Client Services, Lori Alexy was recently appointed to the Literacy Nassau Board of Directors. Ms. Alexy’s three-year term will begin July 1st.

“I am looking forward to working with Literacy Nassau carrying out their mission and showing the community what an asset they are,” said Ms. Alexy. “The organization is so powerful and reaches so many, I am thrilled to have such an active role in helping to improve adult literacy skills.”

Literacy Nassau is a learner-centered literacy service. Each year, since 1968, Literacy Nassau has provided services for hundreds of Nassau adults who are functionally illiterate, assisting them, their families – and hopefully future generations – toward self-sufficiency and personal success.

Sr. VP Named Distinguished Recent Grad

Kristie Galvani, Senior Vice President of HJMT COMMUNICATIONS, LLC (HJMT), will receive the York College of Pennsylvania 2009 Distinguished Recent Graduate Award this May. The Distinguished Recent Graduate Award recognizes York College of Pennsylvania alumni who have graduated within the past ten years for significant career achievement and/or community service.

“There is such a large number of recent graduates deserving of this award and I am humbled to receive it.” said Ms. Galvani. “The award is a direct reflection of how York College of Pennsylvania provides all their graduates with the education and experience they need to be successful.”
