“It would be so wonderful to reconnect with past Girl Scouts living on Long Island and be able to include them in all of our upcoming 100th Anniversary celebrations,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director, Girl Scouts of Nassau County.  “This is such an exciting time for Girl Scouts everywhere and we are eagerly awaiting to hear from you and learn about your Girl Scouting memories.”

On March 12, 1912 Girl Scout founder, Juliette Gordon Low, officially registered the organization’s first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia. Today, there are more than 10 million Girl Scouts and Girl Guides worldwide. Girl Scouts of Nassau County will mark the 100th Anniversary by hosting a day long open house on March 12th from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Girl Scouts of Nassau County Headquarters located at 110 Ring Road West in Garden City, for all Girl Scouts (girls, volunteers, parents and alumnae). Activities will include a Sunrise Ceremony, the Wish Upon a Star display, and the opening of the time capsule (closed in 2000), as well as 100th Anniversary cake while they sing Happy Birthday to Girl Scouts.
