Melville, NY (February 29, 2012) – Dr. Shawn H. Zimberg, Medical Director of Radiation Oncology for Advanced Radiation Centers of New York, a division of Integrated Medical Professionals (IMP), will be honored at the upcoming Beth C. Tortolani Foundation 16th Annual Dinner Dance on Saturday, March 24th at Terrace on the Park in Flushing, NY. Dr. Zimberg will be recognized for his dedication and commitment in the fight against breast cancer.

“It is an honor to be chosen as one of this year’s honorees,” said Dr. Zimberg. “I look forward to continuing to work alongside the Foundation to make a positive difference for women suffering from breast cancer.”

Proceeds from the Beth C. Tortolani Dinner Dance enable the Foundation to assist and organize programs and services, which provide resources, knowledge, and skills, to women with breast cancer and their families in order to enhance their quality of life.

Dr. Zimberg, a board certified Radiation Oncologist, is a leader in the deployment of Radiation Oncology technologies and was one of the first in this area to gain expertise in the use of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation in the treatment of breast cancer.

Dr. Zimberg served as the medical spokesman for the Nassau County chapter of the American Cancer Society and has been featured as a medical expert in television, radio and newspaper reports on cancer including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, ABC News, and News 12 Long Island.

Dr. Zimberg adds, “The Dinner Dance will be a wonderful event to raise awareness for the Foundation, and encourage those involved to continue the battle against breast cancer.”
